War for Hogwarts: Episode 9 (A Harry Potter Fanfiction by Mark Borne)

“It’s over!” Mark shouted as he entered the Room of Requirement.           “Oh, precious,” a cloaked and hooded girl muttered. “You found me. Finally. I was beginning to grow tired of this game of cat and mouse.”           “You sound familiar,” Mark told her, caught off guard.           “Yes, I suppose I do,” the girl nodded. Mark caught a brief glimpse of white skin beneath the hood. “I’ve been a valuable part of your education this last year.”           “Kiera?” Mark asked doubtfully.           “Oh, forget about her, for just one second, will you?” the girl moaned. “’I’ve convinced Kiera to help me with advanced potions.’ Ugh. She could get stuck in a wormhole for all I care.”           “Then who are you?” Mark demanded. “And why haven’t you tried to kill me, yet? If you were the one who tried to kill me several other times, then I know you can cast Avada Kedavra .”           “That’s not the point,” the girl told him. “Don’t you see? That I’m doing this for you? For S

BACK! With More Content Planned!

So, this wonderful vacation has given me several opportunities: Imagine what life would be like if I made smarter choices Plot Story Ideas Watch the Chronicles of Narnia movies (or, at least, the first two) Slouch in shame as Aslan says we can't know for sure what something might have been (see Opportunity 1) Sorry to say, but none of these story ideas are relevant to this blog, and I have no new poetry (my Poetry Ideas Well has dried up), so none of that'll be exciting. But, because of Narnia ("For Aslan!"), I've expanded my somewhat unsuccessful Rewatch series to other movies. The first two you can expect to see? "The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian". Disney+ does not offer "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader", but if I can get a hold of it at my local library, I'll try to rewatch that one soon enough, too. Some other series

War for Hogwarts: Episode 8 (A Harry Potter Fanfiction by Mark Borne)

Sorry, forgot to schedule one for yesterday. Anyways, this is the penultimate episode of Season 1 of War for Hogwarts. When Mark awoke the next day, he found an owl waiting on a chair. It fluttered a little and flew over to him, and dropped a letter on his lap. “What’s this?” he wondered. He opened it.           Dear Sanderson,           I have been watching your movements with great interest. I have already supplied a few other Hogwarts students in the past, your sister. Hannah, and your friend, Sofi, are among them. I have something to give you, too, though. I did not know if you should be the one to take this path, but after your survival of the Killing Curse, it is evident that only you can finish this. Find Dumbledore and have him cast a Memory Extraction Spell on himself. As for which memory, tell him to look for the fifth day of the month of his graduation from Hogwarts. The memory he extracts should then be viewed by you, and you should follow the memory to the location

Would You Rather...? (#1)

These "Would You Rathers" are small, but they're meant to start debates. Debates, not arguments! Anyways, here's the first one: "In a mystery novel, would you rather have a friend by your side helping you while risking his/her own life... ...or would you rather have your friend safe at home counting on you to solve the mystery and come out safely?"

Jedi Fallen Order Final Review: Is It Worth It?

Obviously, I've been posting a lot of stuff about this awesome game, but I haven't gotten into how the game works, and whether the game's worth it. I'll go over many aspects of the game, and in the end, reveal my (not so secret) opinion. And don't worry, this is spoiler-free. First up, let's talk graphics. I've heard people say the graphics are stunning. Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) is apparently one of the best games, when it comes to graphics, and people are comparing Jedi: Fallen Order (2019) to Battlefront II. I don't see it, though. The graphics are great, yes, but the graphics don't transition as well as they do in Battlefront II, and it doesn't seem very fluid. One example is the appearance of any wookiee. They are a mess. Literally. I encourage you to google what a wookiee looks like in this game. Furthermore, graphics don't fully load very quickly, which is fine usually, but when you're trying to settle on a new outfit or BD

[SPOILERS] Jedi: Fallen Order (Story Review)

It starts off with Cal working as scrapper on the planet Bracca. The only person he trusts is an alien named Prauff (might be spelled wrong). One day, he uses the Force to save Prauff, and it leads two Inquisitors (the Second Sister and the Ninth Sister) to Bracca, along with a bunch of purge troopers. Cal barely manages to escape his confrontation with the Second Sister, thanks to a former Jedi named Cere and the captain of the Mantis (which is a starship) named Greeze. Cere then takes Cal to the planet Bogano, which the Empire has no record of, and tells him to go into the ancient temple. He does so, discovering a droid called BD-1 on the way. Cal then discovers a recording of a Jedi master named Cordova, who hid a holocron within that very temple. The holocron contained a list of all Force-sensitive children across the galaxy. But the holocron is locked away, and it can only be recovered by someone who follows in "Cordova's Path". The Zeffo people were a particular in

Q/A With Shaly

This was bound to happen, like so much that the one that is probably next is I don't know... The Poet of Steel or Spitfire or Lady Knight, or just some other crazy. Plus, you guys know the drill. Mark's Addition : So...well...yeah, if anyone else wants to do one, let me know. Apparently, this is the thing to do on my blog right now, though I admit, I have no clue why.

Jedi: Fallen Order (Lightsaber Customization)

Okay, I must say, lightsaber customization in Jedi: Fallen Order should be its own $15 video game. The experience of customizing your lightsaber? It's truly remarkable and my favorite part of the game so far. Want to know what's odd? It's inspired by Galaxy's Edge lightsaber building. There are 5 parts to your lightsaber in Jedi: Fallen Order. They are as follows: Blade Color This is pretty self-explanatory. This is the color of your lightsaber. For preordering the game, you unlock the orange lightsaber blade, which is what I currently have active (as of writing this article). The default lightsaber color is blue. You also start, however, with a green color as well. Emitter This is the "top" part of your lightsaber. I personally dislike the default piece, so I changed it. As of writing this article, I think I have the Umbaran Campaign (another preorder bonus) emitter equipped, but I could be wrong. Switch The switch is the "middle" pa

Gabby's Q/A Answers

LUCY 1. What’s your favorite poem? Oh goodness, I could never choose one, but the first one that came to mind that I love is Robert Frost’s “October,” it’s so elegantly written and just so beautiful. 2. What’s your go-to poem or song for writing inspiration? It depends, but "Heartbreak Weather" By Jonah Marais is a song I've been writing a lot to lately. It's sad enough for dark poetry but beautiful enough for nature descriptions and other odd combinations. I’ve also been listening to “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson (The Daniel Seavey cover though) and “Lose You To Love Me” by Selena Gomez. 3. Do you play any instruments? So, I had a guitar for about 3 years now and I know a part of a Nirvana song and some other rock songs my mom taught me. I've also dabbled on keyboard and know 2 little beats my grandpa taught me and part of a NF song my sister showed me. I don't play professionally or anything, my guitar broke and my sis won't let me play her keyboard,

War for Hogwarts: Episode 7 (A Harry Potter Fanfiction by Mark Borne)

“Not many can survive a killing curse,” Dumbledore congratulated Mark when he woke up. Mark found he was in the hospital wing.           “What…happened?” he asked, a headache keeping him from piecing together the last events of his memory.           “Someone tried to kill you,” Dumbledore replied. “Like I said, with a killing curse. Remarkable, really, that you were so resilient against it.”           “A killing curse?”           “Yes,” Dumbledore said. He smiled at Mark. “You would make a great Ravenclaw. Why did the Sorting Hat choose Hufflepuff for you?”           “I think…” Mark thought hard, and it was difficult to recall the event. He’d have believed he had been hit by an Amnesia Curse before he thought of Avada Kedavra. “I think because I didn’t want to be a part of them. I think the Sorting Hat was trying to teach me something.”           Dumbledore nodded knowingly. “We don’t all get what we wish, do we? But likewise, it can be for much better purposes than we an

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Last night, at about 8:25, I got to preorder the game. I literally preordered the game less than 4 hours to its release in the United States, so I'm actually not quite sure how much of a pre order it is. Anyways, point is, I have the game, and at the time of which you're reading this article, installation has probably finished and I've probably logged on. Now, I've done a lot of research into this game, and there are some initial points I'd like to bring up about it. (Note that as of writing this article, I still haven't tried the game firsthand.) Pros: Lightsaber customization is, apparently, amazing. You can customize the top part of your lightsaber, the bottom part of it, the material it's made from, and the lightsaber blade color itself. Jedi: Fallen Order is also the first time an orange lightsaber blade is canon, however you can only obtain it by preordering the game. (Even if you preorder a couple of minutes before release, which definitely
