Blog Rules

A FEW GENERAL RULES!

1. No Giving Away Personal Information. First names are fine, but no last or middle names, no location, no email, etc. This blog is open to the world, and we don't want the world getting your personal information. If you're using a Google+ Profile or something, and your name automatically displays with your message, that's fine, but don't specifically say in the comments what your name is. Pen names are allowed and encouraged.
2. Be Nice To Others. Some people are still learning. I can testify. Been there, still there. Anyhow, some of us are still learning, and some of us may be on the younger side, etc, and so we may come across rude/obnoxious, or we might be wrong about something...just be nice about it. Don't become rude/obnoxious yourself.
3. No Arguing Or Debating. Arguing ruins friendships, and puts a bad note on my blog, which are two reasons I'm outlawing that. Debating, unfortunately, almost always leads to arguing, so I'm making debating against the rules just to be safe.
4. No Politics. Just...no politics. We don't want or need that here, so just don't.
5. No Advertising. If you want your blog featured, you can let me know and post a link, but don't purposefully advertise your blog. I will advertise on this blog, and I alone.
6. No Spamming. Spam messages are met with instant deletion. Or, at least, as instant as I can manage.
7. Family-Friendly Content Only. I don't want to have to deal with profanity, explicit content, or anything that is unsuitable for a 13-year-old to read. This rule applies to every aspect of my blog without fail, and at the end of the day, this rule is the one I will be strictest about enforcing.

What is allowed?

1. Religion. This may be the one site in the world that allows religion but not politics, but religious discussions are allowed. Just don't try to convince someone that your religion is right, or what they believe is improbable. Religion is restricted to Q/A and explaining beliefs, not debates. That goes back to Rule 3.
2. Constructive Criticism. You may provide general feedback, but make sure you don't just bash someone without reason or provide strictly negative feedback. That goes back to Rule 2. A good system to use is the Criticism Sandwich: start off with something good, provide your criticism, and end with something else nice.
3. Posting Short Poetry. You may post short poetry (not long poetry) in comments. You can use this to promote your blog if you like, or promote someone else's blog, but again, no direct advertising. If you're going to post poetry to promote your blog, post the poetry, list the name of the blog, and if anyone likes your poem, they may ask for the link and you may give it to them. Keep in mind, however, I will visit links posted in this manner, and if I don't want to associate with your blog, I will probably delete the link. It's not personal, it's just me trying to be wary of the internet and influences on the internet and trying to protect my community from things I feel may be harmful.

My Talent (Poem by Mark Borne)

Many places, I've come to know, People of different cultures, too; They all have their thing, Something that they can do, But not me, not yet, My talent has yet to show up. I write and write, plots And twists and poems and Even the rare favorite of The readers I've lured And ensnared in my blog. Yet deep inside, I force myself To write the words that meet The lines of text and thoughts. Then I turn to run, and Find the wind upon my face As I escape my life, But it always catches up, And the worries I face Distract me, making the Outside world obsolete. Even in reading, I find Myself buried in stories That show misfortune in the Lives of fictional characters, Directly only to do as they Were told by the writer. And yet, in stories there is a Beauty unmatched by reality, A world that eventually Results in kindness and Peace and excitement. And being in those worlds, If only for a mere moment, Is my hobby. If only I could Be the character in the ...

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per...
