Dreams (A Short Story by Mark Borne)

The two figures sat sadly under the evening sky, taking in the golden sky and glowing clouds. "This is it, isn't it?" the boy asked. "This is where we part ways."

"I wish it wasn't," the girl replied sadly, resting her head on the boy's shoulder. "I wish we could just stay here in this moment forever."

The boy nodded sadly and gazed at the sky. "Even days must come to an end," he began muttering, drifting into a mournful monologue. "The light is always replaced with darkness, and all that breaths must again wake to reality."

"But the night and darkness also give way to the light," the girl reminded him. "And eventually, we all fall asleep and dream again. Besides, there are also daydreams."

The boy smiled, surprised she was the optimist this time instead of him. It amazed him how she was always exactly what he needed her to be, even without him telling her what was going through his head. All the doubts and fear was swept out of his mind, and he hugged her closer to him. "You'll always be here in my heart," he told her.

"And you'll always be in mine," she replied.

The darkness covered them, and he woke up.

My Talent (Poem by Mark Borne)

Many places, I've come to know, People of different cultures, too; They all have their thing, Something that they can do, But not me, not yet, My talent has yet to show up. I write and write, plots And twists and poems and Even the rare favorite of The readers I've lured And ensnared in my blog. Yet deep inside, I force myself To write the words that meet The lines of text and thoughts. Then I turn to run, and Find the wind upon my face As I escape my life, But it always catches up, And the worries I face Distract me, making the Outside world obsolete. Even in reading, I find Myself buried in stories That show misfortune in the Lives of fictional characters, Directly only to do as they Were told by the writer. And yet, in stories there is a Beauty unmatched by reality, A world that eventually Results in kindness and Peace and excitement. And being in those worlds, If only for a mere moment, Is my hobby. If only I could Be the character in the ...

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per...
