Bounty Hunters versus Smugglers: What's The Difference? (Star Wars According to Mark)

Many people use bounty hunter and smuggler are interchangeable terms, but here's a shocker: they're not the same thing, not one bit.

Thankfully, logic prevails: a bounty hunter hunts for bounties, whereas a smuggler...well...smuggles stuff. But what other attributes differ between these two professions? Let's dive right in.

  1. Legality.
    1. Smuggling is a highly illegal profession. Their job centers around delivering illegal cargo from Point A to Point B without being caught.
    2. Bounty Hunting is, actually, quite legal. They are hired to hunt down targets, and bring them dead or alive.
      1. NOTE: While bounty hunting is a legal profession, that doesn't mean all bounty hunters perform legal activity. Bounty hunters like Boba Fett often worked for crime lords, and thus were considered criminals.
  2. Preferred Starships
    1. The preferred starship type of the smuggler is the light freighter. What they want is a small starship with a decent sized cargo hold, as well as plenty of hidden compartments to hide contraband, as well as themselves on occasion.
    2. Bounty hunters don't have a particular type of preferred craft. Instead, they might choose from a variety of starships. Boba Fett, as an example, was known for the Slave I, which was a starfighter. The Mandalorian had the Razor Crest, which was a gunship. Other bounty hunters might prefer a light freighter so they have more room for bounties. Storage and speed, however, are never priorities for bounty hunters.
  3. Reputation
    1. Smugglers love their attention, sure, but they prefer to keep it low-key, as they are criminals. What they like to do is make their jobs well known, and keep their own reputation low. The problem with this is it makes it easier for other smugglers to steal credit for their jobs.
    2. Bounty hunters absolutely need their reputation to grow. With little to no reputation, they won't get the right jobs. With high reputation, they can get any job for any price. For instance, if Boba Fett took a low-end job, he would be paid a small fortune for it, but if a start-up bounty hunter took the job, he'd be paid barely enough for travel expenses.

  1. I love how you explained the sterff. It helps express a bunch of disorganized thoughts that I have floating around my head. Great format!

Would You Rather...? (#1)

These "Would You Rathers" are small, but they're meant to start debates. Debates, not arguments! Anyways, here's the first one: "In a mystery novel, would you rather have a friend by your side helping you while risking his/her own life... ...or would you rather have your friend safe at home counting on you to solve the mystery and come out safely?"

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per
