We're like hot dogs,
Delicious food topped
With all sorts of dreams.
Then, slowly, Time eats
Us away, and the pain
Grows until we are gone.
So why even bother?
Because a life lived
For nothing is a life
Wasted, when we could
Have made a difference.

Well that was way deeper than I expected for a poem called 'Hot dogs.' Wow, that was surprisingly really good, you should honestly write a deep, food based poetry book, I think it'd be pretty cool honestly!
ReplyDeleteIf I ever have a claim to fame, it's thanks to my food poetry xD
DeleteWow. This is not what I expected. XD
ReplyDeleteIt's so deep! I love the meaning.
Lol Of course it ain't what you expected!
DeleteIt's like all my other food poetry. It's got an actual meaning lol
If i wrote a hot dog poem, it'll look like this:
DeleteHot dogs
you can eat them on a log
You can eat them with a frog
You can eat them here
you can eat them there
you can eat them anywhere!
^not at all Dr. Suess inspired XD
Wow, this is an awesome poem. The title, in a way, is misleading since I'd never expect a poem called "Hot Dogs" to delve into a serious, meaningful topic such as this. I especially liked the last few lines; it's like a gut punch, since not many realize they've been living for "nothing" until a long time after the fact. Just wow. Amazingly written with a profound meaning.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work.
Gracias lol
DeleteYeah, Hot Dogs and Meaningfulness aren't exactly similar themes xD I do that with most of my poetry. My Watermelon and Onion poems warn against false appearances, for example
