Countdown (Poem by Mark Borne)

Author's Note: Honestly, never thought I'd post this, and I still feel like it's a bad idea...at least this time I can accurately blame Kyra!

Ten,
Friends I never
Thought I'd miss.

Nine,
Times I had
To say goodbye.

Eight,
Stories I quit when
That day came.

Seven,
Nightmares, the
Number of Perfection.

Six,
Panic attacks
As I cry out.

Five,
Songs I sang
To keep calm.

Four,
Months of sitting
Alone and waiting.

Three,
Statelines of pain
Erased from existence.

Two,
New raw emotions
I didn't know.

One,
Friend who made
Me whole again.

  3. Woah I love the formatting, the poem itself is really sad but the ending made it better, great poem :)

    1. That's my trademark writing style: sad/depressing, but ending optimistically lol. Thanks!

Would You Rather...? (#1)

These "Would You Rathers" are small, but they're meant to start debates. Debates, not arguments! Anyways, here's the first one: "In a mystery novel, would you rather have a friend by your side helping you while risking his/her own life... ...or would you rather have your friend safe at home counting on you to solve the mystery and come out safely?"
