Top 10 Recommended Songs (Mark Borne Edition)

First off, WHO HERE LOVES FILLER POSTS?! :D I do, because it means I get to write meaninglessly and procrastinate with my stories!

Second off, be warned, these are songs I recommend. They're bound to not exactly be the most popular songs.

And now, in reverse order, the top ten recommendations!

10. Immortals (by Fall Out Boy, from Big Hero 6)

9. Sky Full Of Stars (by Coldplay)

8. Come Together Now (from The Lego Movie 2)

7. Super Cool (feat. Robyn & The Lonely Island, from The Lego Movie 2)

6. A Million Dreams (from The Greatest Showman)

5. A Thousand Years (by Christina Perri)

4. You've Got A Friend In Me (by Randy Newman, from Toy Story)

3. The Middle (by Jimmy Eat World)

2. When Can I See You Again? (by Owl City, from Wreck-It-Ralph)

1. Friends Are Family (feat. Will Arnett & Jeff Lewis, from The Lego Batman Movie)

You may have noticed that most of my favorite music was actually written for specific movies. Actually, 7/10 of my Top 10 are from movies. I'm not sure why it always appeals to me, but it's probably because it tends to be easier to relate to; instead of some famous pop-star writing them, they were written to match the plot, or resolution of the plot, in the movies that features them.

  1. I know only 3 of the 10. I'm not in the know! I love 10, 9, and 5. "A Thousand Years, " is from, "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2."

    1. Lol Or I've just got a weird sense of music, one or the other xD

9 and 10 are fairly common on the radio stations my mom listens to, so I'm not surprised you've heard of them. 5 is a much older song, though, and it seems its time has come and gone, though I still love it. Always have :D

I didn't know 5 was featured in that. Then again, I have no idea what "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" is xD

  2. Greatest Showman!!! Yeah!!!

A Million Dreams is literally the only song on there I know

For some reason I was expecting It's Raining Tacos when I saw the title of this post lol

I tend to like songs that fit with movies too. There's something about having a story behind the song that gives it more emotion. Sometimes I make up stories behind songs or try to find a book or movie that fits with the song. You should check out Ashes by Celine Dion. It's technically from Deadpool, but it fits so perfectly with Infinity War that several people on YouTube made music videos with that song and clips from Infinity War. Just search "ashes avengers" on YouTube and they should come up. They will totally give you the chills ;)

    1. I don't like realistic movies very much, and I hate musicals, but I loved The Greatest Showman. It's a great story and awesome music :D

Really? During one of the Bible study meetings, someone (not S; someone else) streamed music and "A Sky Full of Stars" played on it :/

Wow, that's...wow O.O Emotional. I should have expected to relive Spiderman's death again...

    2. The Greatest Showman is one of my favorite musicals. I love the music, and I enjoyed the story more than most musicals I've seen.

Hmm, maybe I would recognize it if I heard it. I probably just didn't know the name of it when it played. Or I just wasn't paying any attention to the music at all XD

      IKR!!!!

Would You Rather...? (#1)

These "Would You Rathers" are small, but they're meant to start debates. Debates, not arguments! Anyways, here's the first one: "In a mystery novel, would you rather have a friend by your side helping you while risking his/her own life... ...or would you rather have your friend safe at home counting on you to solve the mystery and come out safely?"

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per

Q/A With Shaly

This was bound to happen, like so much that the one that is probably next is I don't know... The Poet of Steel or Spitfire or Lady Knight, or just some other crazy. Plus, you guys know the drill. Mark's Addition : So...well...yeah, if anyone else wants to do one, let me know. Apparently, this is the thing to do on my blog right now, though I admit, I have no clue why.
