Spring (Sonnet 1) (Written by Anonymous)

As a fragrant flower of the blooming Spring, You flourished in a sweet essence by a shimmering blue- light crystal pond, There as Queen Primavera waltzed on fields of golden grain, as the twirled in her dancing fling, As blossoms swayed in ripples of soft waves, your gentle wind blows of rain made me fond. You grew as a veined skinned root up the legs of a dock, As a vine of lilac ivy curled about, you wouldn't let go of this red flower, But as then as a crimson drop of blood on the pale face of snow, was but the breath of a clock, And then you ceased to shed a hollow tear and broke with the twisted heat of Summer. A stark blush break of dawn as pale day left as a whisper, began to fade as the voice of ghost, The wraith of Winter dark as frozen ice and cold as the chill wind of aged night, But then the white vestige of time, like the bed of the still river shivered and broke, as you began to boast, But you as as the scarlet rose and sweet lavender lily are swallowed from earth we began to fight. And midnight is when snowflake stars fall, when my breath raptures again, when I weep. And at daylight is when the Sun wavers gold, when you scream a horrid song, and when you will fall asleep.

  2. Hmm.... this seems familiar ;) I really really love this one, it's so magical and I can tell there's history involved, but the Summer descriptions and such are so.... perfect, it reminds me of times spent with my fam in the Summer, it's beautiful, you nailed the sonnet pattern :)

    1. Thanks, Gabby. I wonder where you've seen this? ;) Magical? Huh, I never found it that way. History? Well, I don't know. I wrote this one just to write, and I was more focused on getting the rhyme scheme right, than actual theme. Though, "Queen Primavera," is a name for Spring and the part about crimson on snow, was inspired by the verse Isaiah 1:18. I think I was trying to right about losing someone over time, like how the Spring leaves. I'm still not sure.

    2. I wonder as well... ;) and ohhhh that explains the Queen Primavera, I thought it was a historical figure xD. awww, that's beautiful, I love that piece of scripture, I can see that in this piece! And whatever the meaning, it is still a beautiful piece. I love the way there can be multiple meanings, it makes it special and can be relatable :)

Would You Rather...? (#1)

These "Would You Rathers" are small, but they're meant to start debates. Debates, not arguments! Anyways, here's the first one: "In a mystery novel, would you rather have a friend by your side helping you while risking his/her own life... ...or would you rather have your friend safe at home counting on you to solve the mystery and come out safely?"

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per

Q/A With Shaly

This was bound to happen, like so much that the one that is probably next is I don't know... The Poet of Steel or Spitfire or Lady Knight, or just some other crazy. Plus, you guys know the drill. Mark's Addition : So...well...yeah, if anyone else wants to do one, let me know. Apparently, this is the thing to do on my blog right now, though I admit, I have no clue why.
