I'm holding a writing contest, check it out here! https://marysawrites.wordpress.com/2019/04/08/500-followers-writing-contest/ Rules are as follows; Upon reaching such a goal I never saw myself reaching, I’ve decided to hold a writing contest. Submit your poem, prose, or short story to be featured on this blog, an author copy of my book, The Four Stages of Poetry and a chance to co-write with me, if you desire to do so. Rules; In order to be eligible for this contest, you must like this post, and comment to let me know you have decided to participate (This allows me to check and make sure your submission is not lost in spam, etc). Everyone is welcome, and encouraged to participate. You will then submit your piece to my contact page. Your piece can consist of any topic or theme except; Religious views in any way Political views in any way Racist views in any way Sexist, or hardcore feminist (offensively, or negatively hating on men, etc.) in any way You may submit up to three pieces. Poems and prose may be any length (within moderation of course, I will not accept novel length poems). Short stories must not exceed 1000 words. Contest closes April 20th.  Mark's Addition: If one of the readers of this blog wins, I'll also throw in a candy cane poem on this blog. The math is simple: submit something!

    Np! :D I mean, personally, I would have preferred tomorrow to spread my posts out a bit more, but whatever, I've got about 50 things in queue, now, anyways, thanks to Shaly :D

    I forgot what it was like to have stuff to post lol

    I like your rules. They're very practical. I don't know how you come up with that stuff. If it was up to me, the rules'll be something like "write it nice" XD

      I think the rules are more fitted for her blog, but overall, it works roughly the same way -shrug-

    Ooo, I'd love to join. I just have a couple questions:

    1) Are poems with Biblical allusions allowed?
    2) Can I submit a poem a thousand words long?
    3) This one is more of statement, I doubt I'll win, but if I do, please don't give me a free copy of your book. I will prefer to purchase it, so I don't feel bad. I think if that's your book you don't have to give it away for free. You're already earning $5 for each book and I think your words are worth more than that.

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. Q/A With Shaly

This was bound to happen, like so much that the one that is probably next is I don't know... The Poet of Steel or Spitfire or Lady Knight, or just some other crazy. Plus, you guys know the drill. Mark's Addition : So...well...yeah, if anyone else wants to do one, let me know. Apparently, this is the thing to do on my blog right now, though I admit, I have no clue why.
