Mark Is Great (Poem by Lucy J.)

For a second, not a moment more, (Oh, had I wished for a moment more, Just one!) I’ve reached predictable doubts— Lest, I should remember, Upon something so enriched by the fosse Of collective old hope that thatched its own death, Oh, the onset of some funeral but of this, it was for my hope, As it expired; Send the remembrance of not glory, But of that visiting pride, wrought with bracts Hemming themselves to the dead sod below my feet; Those crooning graves, I’ve once said, now brought remembrance That hope and pride lie here with sweet surrender; I was too proud in the steep of bets, And I have fairly lost to the one and only “ant”, But, wait! One second, before I concede! I must admit— Something I once again done, And never shall I bet again, Never shall I again, As I’ve stumped all my guesses, With something to never be undone, but not a wasted minute more, Unlike the breached oaths in between of Dolos, I admit to my mistake of being too smug… Mark is great. Mark is just awesome; He is a greater winner than I could ever be, And to account for his greatness that I am being forced to see, Mark is simply awesome. awesome. awesome. This, I mean! He’s great… And has ton’s of greatness, too… (Ta. Ta. Ta. Ta.) And not a moment more, He’s the great winner of this bet, And I am the loser, sore. But, let’s not EVER forget,  That Mark is simply great, The best.  And to account for that,  This is my very final bet.

Author's Note: My condolences for this poem.

Mark's Addition: Wait...mythology???

  1. Lol. Yep, mythology.

It’s specifically where I bring up Dolos who’s the Greek God of deception. It was a way for me to branch in the “Mark is great...” lines by me finally admitting your greatness. And by that, I contrasted myself to Dolos in that way. It’s one of those weird lines, tbh, but that’s normal for my poems. Lol.

    1. xD Tbh, it probably is mythology. "Mark Is Lucky" would be a more realistic poem, as this is the only time I've ever won a bet that I can recall lol

I was expecting you to win, but my views went from 10k monthly to 7k monthly. A huge drop-off :/

    2. Lol. That’s pretty funny, tbh.

Really? After a couple weeks, I was certain you were going to win. And you did.

But 48,000 was a crazy number for me to bet on, and realistically, it probably will happen in late April or May. I’m not betting on this one, though. Lol. It’s all probability.

    3. After a couple weeks was when the sudden drop occurred; I was certain you'd win until then

      Eh, I think June

  2. I love how you opened up the poem. It's almost like you were saying, "*sigh* I was forced to do this. I lost. Please forgive me." XD

My favorite line is "And to account for his greatness that I am being forced to see". I pretty much collapsed with laughter at this point.

tbh, I'm mindblown by the fact that you actually wrote this. I would've died on the inside if i ever had to write this.

When you said "ta, ta, ta" for some reason the poem turned into a musical (with the tune of "Be Our Guest"

This is a great poem about greatness. :)

I like your new profile picture, Mark. Seems familiar. ;)

My profile picture looks familiar? :O Where have you seen it? Lol

    2. That may or may not have been my thought process when writing this. ;)

I’m glad you thought that line was funny. :)

Lol. I understand that. I did die on the inside after writing this (mainly from embarrassment). But a bet is a bet. And this was the result.

XD I listened to that, and it fits that part too well. Maybe I should make this poem into a full blown musical... Hmm... lol.

Anyway, thank you so much. I’m glad you liked this. :)

    3. Mark Is Great: The Musical. Coming to DVD September 2099 xD

    4. Lol. It will be produced by Disney, and will be a critical success thus forcing the unwritten sequel, “Mark Is Still Great: Musical 2” that under fan speculation is to be released in the year, 2209 (to the author, Lucy J’s great dismay, since she will have to write a sequel way before that...)

  3. lol.

Well, even if because of Mark you are now only a hollow shell of who you used to be, I enjoyed it.

    *hums* Mark is great

I'm not certain where I saw it... XD

2099? I've already completed filming! I've been secretly recording you for the past 6 months. It should come out next year. }:)

    2. Oh, Lucy, I need to film one more scene. Can you and Mark participate in a kick line?

    3. XD Lol. Nope. Well, Mark can. He’s the star of the musical after all. :D

    4. awww. I need another extra. You are the only other person in on production, so I can trust you to keep the plot under wraps. XD

    5. Lol Nah, I can promise you, there's no musical she's filmed of me xD I don't sing lol

  5. I cracked up, as I read this. :) I wouldn't be able to pull this off.

But, you know this musical may come out, the 2090's may be Disney's second golden age with, "Mark is Great: The Musical," as the leading film and the start of a revolution in the film making industry. >D Also, a reflection of the current popular music of the era. It might be greater than, "The Lion King."

    1. I’m glad it cracked you up. :) Well, I think you could pull this off. Overall, it was a silly thing to write, of course, after initial embarrassment. Lol.

Lol. You know, it just might be. It can certainly make a statement. But, could it be better than “The Lion King”? Well, I don’t know—we’ll have to read the reviews when it’s released. XD

For fun, I might write a sequel poem to this (I’m serious), and I’ll put musical aspects in figurative language to make it like a musical. Not sure if I’ll do that for sure, but I’m cracking up at the possibility.

    2. Your're right, Lucy. Could anything beat, "The Lion King"?

Anyway, I can't wait to read your sequel poem, if you decide to do it.

Would You Rather...? (#1)

These "Would You Rathers" are small, but they're meant to start debates. Debates, not arguments! Anyways, here's the first one: "In a mystery novel, would you rather have a friend by your side helping you while risking his/her own life... ...or would you rather have your friend safe at home counting on you to solve the mystery and come out safely?"
