Death of a Trash Can (Comic by Kyra Organa)

Let's kick off Kyra's marathon with the first comic this blog has seen!

She had a higher-quality image sent, too, but it would only work as a word document on my computer, and I can't upload word documents to Blogger, so I had to use the original. So, for those who can't read it, I've included the following below:

Part 1:
Trash Can: For years we've been hiding in the shadows!
Sign: Stop Treating Us Like TRASH!

Part 2:
Subtitle: Life, Death, Trashcans
Trash Can: We have been abused! Society doesn't know how crucial we are to its survival. We will rise and fight! Many will lose their lives, but we will have vengeance!

Part 3:
Trash Can: Vengeance!

Part 4:
Subtitle: The next morning...
Man: Why?

HOWEVER! This is also a contest! Kyra's Trash Can sequel is up against Spitfire's Bacon sequel, so let's pause Kyra's marathon in order to present Spitfire's part of the contest (Cast your votes in the comments!):

Hunt for Bacon: Part 1

Iā€™m sitting on the top bunk in my cabin with my friend. Hearing kids scream and yell bacon, I crack the door and see a group sweaty children. I say with a questioning voice, ā€œWhat are you doing?ā€ The kids giggle back, ā€œWe are looking for the Bacon.ā€ I was confused and reply, ā€œCan I help you find Bacon? You need me because I know the Bacon.ā€ The kids ask, ā€œWhere do you think she is?ā€ ā€œIn her cabin.ā€ The group of starving children run like little beasts chanting slowly, ā€œBacon, Bacon, Bacon,ā€ over and over. When we open the door to her cabin, a girl admits, ā€œThe Bacon is not here!ā€

  3. This was nice a thing to see in the morning, I didn't crack up laughing (I think my humor is sour in the morning) but, I loved reading your comic, Kyra. And I did smile and almost laughed. Anyway, I loved the comic. My vote is for you, and thank you, for just submitting it, its one of those things that is very refreshing to see. Not, that a trash can makes me happy, it's just you know... it's nice to smile, even when you're not a morning person.

    1. Thank you so much! It's alright. It's not really a laugh out loud comic, more of a pleasant smirk one.

Trash CAN make you happy (badda-boom-tss)

Score! I made a non-morning person mildly pleased!

    2. Well, here is a painfully inspirational speech for you "It's trash CAN, not trash can't" XD

    3. That means you'd vote bacon, though, right? Because bacon is awesome. Trash cans are the exact opposite of awesome :/

    4. Well, I am known as Bacon, so awesome is correct. Thanks for the compliment. :)

    5. It is not wise to believe yourself to be what young kids have been deluded into believing you are :)

    9. You're not, Rysa, you're awesome! Maybe you spend a bit too much time with poetry, but given how I spend way too much time on video games and my blog (not exactly a better use of time than poetry), I'm in no way one to judge :P

    10. Pretty much all I do is write. Well, except since tuesday, in which I've contracted the flu, and have been spending copious amounts of time watching garbage videos on youtube. (This is why the content on my website has been what it is).

    11. Also, if I didn't spend as much time on poetry as I do, I wouldn't be at the skill level I am right now.

    12. Man, I wish I had the drive to write daily. Marysa, do you write when inspiration comes, or just something like "form 3-4 i will write something"?

      Delete
    13. I write whenever the inspiration comes, it's pretty random. Sometimes I'll just be in the mood to write and read poems until I get an idea.

    14. huh. Well, congrats on being such a good writer!

My Talent (Poem by Mark Borne)

Many places, I've come to know, People of different cultures, too; They all have their thing, Something that they can do, But not me, not yet, My talent has yet to show up. I write and write, plots And twists and poems and Even the rare favorite of The readers I've lured And ensnared in my blog. Yet deep inside, I force myself To write the words that meet The lines of text and thoughts. Then I turn to run, and Find the wind upon my face As I escape my life, But it always catches up, And the worries I face Distract me, making the Outside world obsolete. Even in reading, I find Myself buried in stories That show misfortune in the Lives of fictional characters, Directly only to do as they Were told by the writer. And yet, in stories there is a Beauty unmatched by reality, A world that eventually Results in kindness and Peace and excitement. And being in those worlds, If only for a mere moment, Is my hobby. If only I could Be the character in the ...

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per...
