Round (Poem by Mark Borne)

Cicles;
Such a beautiful shape.
There are no twists,
No sudden turns.
It's a cycle of preparation,
Of determined paths.
But it remains forever dull,
Chances you expect,
Can always see.
Things never change,
And soon you see,
The same faces again.

  1. Idk, but I really like circles, since at least I know what to expect. Gotta love repetition. Lol.
Anyway, cool poem. I think I find this way too relatable, but still, I love the meaning.

    1. Thanks :D
I like circles, too, but I think I'd prefer octagons. I can predict the general direction, therefore, and simultaneously there are the occasional twists and surprises :/ It's kinda the best of both worlds lol

  2. This is so interesting.... hmm.... I'm unsure how to feel about this, and idk if I live on a circle.... hmm.... interesting... definetly a thinker....
Besides trying to find how I relate and don't relate, I love this! It's a thinker, bc I'm picturing a spiral, but this is just a circle, and you just loop around again and again with the same routine and see what's gonna happen before it happens.... hmm.... this just rang really deep to me idk XD

    ANYWAYS. Great piece!! :)

    1. Squares are neat; out of all the basic shapes, triangles are my favorite, though
And I like circles, but when it comes to math, I try to avoid them at all costs lol. I can never nail the formulas for area and circumference of a circle

  4. I like this, but I don't like circles. Nothing changes with a circle.

    1. Circles are cool, but I don't particularly like life in the shape of a circle, as this poem implies

Me- Boy, your life must be full of evil then!

In all seriousness (realtively) this is a wonderful poem, that as Gabby said, is thought provoking. My life (and i'm pretty sure everyone else's is) is a crazy squiggle. At times it loopdeloops, seemingly going in circles, but it's always moving forward, wether you know it or not. XD
But ugh, if life was a circle it'll DIE of boredom.

    1. ...I remember that Bad Lip Reading -.-
I didn't say my life was round :) Jumping to conclusions, are we, hmm? Lol

Lol Your life definitely isn't concentric xD

Is your life an oblong spheroid, then?XD

My life is a hexagon. It's got those twists and turns, but it's overall fairly round :)

Hexagons are so fun! They're one of my favorite shapes. (after the crazy loopdelooping squiggle)

-rolls eyes- I don't like hexagons. Then again, I don't like the number 6 in general, so it's understandable how I may not like a shape with 6 sides and 6 angles

I love putting hexagons together to form honeycombs. That's really interesting. What do you have agianst the number 6? It's so random. XD

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per
