Author's Note: Sorry about this coming way later, I completely forgot about it until yesterday!

The Houses of Hogwarts is a four-poem series I have been working on. Credit to Hogwarts and the four houses (and their attributes) goes solely to the author of the Harry Potter series, J.K.Rowling.
Houses of Hogwarts: Slytherin
--------------------------------
Who dreams the most,
And sets his eyes up high?
'Tis Slytherin whose ambitions
Never run dry!
They're clever and quick,
And they care about fame,
Watch out! Never a Slytherin,
Was easy to tame!
If you befriend a Slytherin,
Always be watching your back,
Because when you least expect it,
They'll stab you in the back!
--------------------------------
Wow, this is so good! I like the ABAB pattern in it and the way you worded everything, great piece! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, an ABAB pattern would mean every line rhymes with another line. In this one, it's more like an ABCBDEFEGHIH stance :/
DeleteBut thanks :D
Well, no, because "back" can't rhyme with itself
DeleteI used to have that stance, but a rhyme is a LINE that rhymes with another LINE. Therefore, the endings of both lines have to have the same ending. The final word in both lines can be the same and the prior words be radically different from each other, but if they both have the same sound at the ending, they technically rhyme. Granted, the rhyme is nowhere near as cool, and very unimaginative, but it is technically a rhyme.
DeleteNow, if I were to develop a portfolio, I would not use that as an example of my rhyming, because like I said, very unimaginative lol. I prob could have done better, I was just lazy XD
That's not how it works, it's not a viewpoint. A word cannot rhyme with itself. Therefore, you are wronggg
DeleteRight, a WORD can't, but a line and another line can rhyme with each other even if they end with the same word. The lettering system tracks each line. Therefore, I'm right. You're technically right, too, because you're talking about the specific words and words alone, but I'm not wrong because the lines do rhyme
DeleteWow! this is awesome! I love the "they're watch your back but might stab you in the back section. So true. XD
