The Narrow and Wide Gates (Written by A Chief Among Sinners)

Author's Note: Hi! If anyone feels I'm incorrect or wrong on this analysis, please tell me so I can fix the errors.

When Jesus was preaching His sermon at the Mount, He gave several instructions, pieces of advice, and rules on different morals. One of His teachings is, “The Narrow and Wide Gates,” (Matthew 7:13-14). This teaching is but only three sentences, however, explains a respected lesson in Christianity and sums the difficulty of completing what is right and the justly correct choice. The, “wide and broad gates,” which leads to the, “path of destruction,” is a symbol of a sinful, corrupted, and godless life. For a moment, think of how much more convenient it is to walk through a wider road or larger opening. One can carry or bring many things with them on this inclusive path and more than one person can enter at once. This explains how simple and effortless it is to sin, as well, how life may seem less, “complex,” without Christ. However, this path, this sinful life without God leads to an ultimate, “destruction.” What does this mean? Firstly, this life may be consumed with emptiness, a false hope, and the person who dwells under these, “wide gates,” may feel a burden of guilt and shame. Not only this, their final, “destruction,” their fall, is the punishment of residing in hades. However, the, “broad road,” is not the only path in this life, for God gave us free will, and there will always be two choices, the right and the wrong. Now, the, “small gate and narrow road which leads to life,” is a symbol for a righteous, moral, and God-centered life. At this moment, think of how much more difficult it is to the enter through a smaller opening, a much slender road. When one is going under this, “narrow gate,” they will not be able to bring several belongings with them and maybe much harder to enter. Think of yourself trying to fit through a mouse hole. This explains the difficulty of leading a sinless and God filled life. Also, the probability of someone finding it arduous to seek and go to Christ. Where, this road, this, “narrow gate,” leads to life. This, “narrow gate,” is also a symbol for Jesus Christ Himself, because the way to Eternal Life is through Him. Several times, it is written in the Bible that it is through the Son we find life and find God. This is a spiritual life of course, referring to a residence in Heaven with Jesus and the Father. As well, to be sinless is difficult for we are man and it is in our wicked and corrupted nature to sin and do wrong, however Jesus here isn’t preaching that one must be perfect. For He understands we are human and how often temptation is persuading us, yet, this does not mean we should give up on the belief we can become better people and the concept of finding life through Jesus Christ. Minister and author of, “Slaying the Giants in Your Life,” David Jeremiah wrote that the Greek translation of the word, ‘escape,’ means a narrow and slender passage through a steep canyon or rugged terrain. Residing a life with Jesus, is that passage and escape. For, when we walk this, “narrow road,” when we except Jesus Christ as our Savior, we don’t only go to Heaven. There is also peace in our lives, all shame and guilt is washed away, we find forgiveness for our sins, and we feel an everlasting love. A greater, sublime, beautiful, eternal love which will never fade. A love so powerful and mighty, that even when we sin against God, He will still love us, for nothing will part us from His love. Nothing. For He has always loved us, us sinners, and corrupted beings. We only feel this unfailing affection when we allow His presence in our lives through Jesus Christ. This is the golden and divine treasure of walking the through, “the narrow gate.” Even though, it may seem difficult at times and we maybe persecuted for loving and believing in Jesus, our life will still feel complete for He is there and will never leave us. We must only except Him in our hearts and walk under this, “narrow gate,” for He is knocking softly at the door.

Would You Rather...? (#1)

These "Would You Rathers" are small, but they're meant to start debates. Debates, not arguments! Anyways, here's the first one: "In a mystery novel, would you rather have a friend by your side helping you while risking his/her own life... ...or would you rather have your friend safe at home counting on you to solve the mystery and come out safely?"

Nexus Mad Libs

I assume most of you are familiar with what Mad Libs are. Basically, you're given a bunch of blanks to fill in, and you do so without knowing what the story is. Each blank has a part of speech labeling it, and that blank needs something that fits the part of speech. For example: Adjective: ________ --> Adjective: Explosive In the end, we usually have a hilarious end result that makes no sense whatsoever. One example is this (which is a real result I got once with my siblings): "Another way to help you fall asleep faster is drinking a nuclear glass of warm vinegar ." First, let's go over some rules. Obviously, keep it family friendly. This still goes for all blog content. Do not submit two words in a row. Submit one, and when someone else does one, you may do another. Submit through comments. That'll make it easier for me to assemble the final result. The category is Medieval Heroes . Here are the blanks: Adjective: Constipated (Kyra) Per
